Star Bites

Northern light and Milky Way at Lennox and Addington Dark Sky Viewing Area

June 23, 2015, Tuesday evening, we decided to go and watch the solar storm after the glorious morning storm. It was a two hour drive and our first time visiting Lennox and Addington Dark Sky Viewing Area. While fighting with thousands of mosquitoes, I was able to grab some shots of the Milky way and the aurora borealis with a few fireflies in the ground. Using the Canon EOS 5d Mark III and various lenses, the aurora was very faint and not visible by naked eye, but the Milky Way didn’t disappoint me. Although, I did ended up with around 150 mosquito bites.
